Benguluru, May 9, 2016: Stayzilla has roped in Pankaj Gupta as Chief Product Officer and President of Technology. Pankaj comes with rich experience and background in product, data and engineering. He has been a member of the Director’s Team at Twitter, San Francisco. He was the lead and co-inventor of the WTF, the “Who to Follow” recommendation on Twitter among many others.
In 2008, Pankaj cofounded Phulki, a music search startup, which was acquired by Saavn. He was also the co-founder and CTO of Sahasra Networks before its acquisition by Cypress in 2002. Pankaj has also worked with Cisco and Netlogic. Variants of his past work on routing lookup and classification are currently used extensively throughout the networking industry. He is the inventor on 17 issued US patents.

A graduate from Standford, Pankaj’s interests lie in the areas of personalization, user growth and engagement, search, recommendation, discovery products, distributed systems, machine learning, graph infrastructure and algorithms.Pankaj was the recipient of the Arthur Samuel award for the best Ph.D. dissertation in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University in 2000-2001, and a medal winner for being the first in his undergraduate Computer Science class at IIT Delhi in 1995.
Pankaj will be shifting base from San Francisco to join Stayzilla at their Bengaluru office.
